Directed by Jeremi Durand, the video was inspired by the film Looper[3] and follows three children wearing Muse masks, destroying their future selves, while trying to escape a dystopian and oppressive world. A character with the same mask as the "Creature" from the Won't Stand Down music video and the Instagram stories aswel as other album promos makes an appearance again. This time, the character is called "Mirror Mask Hacker".
The music video for "Compliance", directed by Jeremi Durand and shot in Poland, was released with the single on 17 March. The video features references to 2012 film Looper; three masked children, wearing masks resembling the band members, travel to a dystopian future in an attempt to destroy it and save their future selves.[7] Much of the video is shot in reversed slow-motion. The music video shares a common theme with "Won't Stand Down", commencing with the same metallic masked figure who appeared in the music video for this single.
The English rock band also shared the new song "Compliance" and an accompanying music video. "Will Of The People was created in Los Angeles and London and is influenced by the increasing uncertainty and instability in the world," Muse lead singer Matt Bellamy said in a statement. "A pandemic, new wars in Europe, massive protests & riots, an attempted insurrection, Western democracy wavering, rising authoritarianism, wildfires and natural disasters and the destabilization of the global order all informed Will Of The People." 041b061a72
